Eurovision 2026's Depence use is the vendor's account, not an audit

Eurovision Song Contest 2026 broadcast three live shows from the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna on 12, 14 and 16 May 2026, according to the contest's own official article on the production's lighting design, which names Tim Routledge as designer and states the rig uses more than 2,100 LED and laser units, over 8,500 individually controllable LEDs, and 80 high-speed cable winches. Separately, Syncronorm's own product page states the Eurovision 2026 creative team used its Depence software for more than four weeks of pre-visualization and programming before production began, and the company's showcase page names the same designer and production, describing Depence as once again the pre-programming software of choice for this scale of rig.

What the documents show

The two accounts corroborate each other on a checkable point: both name Tim Routledge as lighting designer and both describe a large-scale, cable-winch-driven LED and laser system for Vienna 2026, stronger corroboration than a vendor case study usually gets. Where they diverge is what each is positioned to state. The official Eurovision article gives the rig's technical scale but does not name Depence or any previsualization software. Only Syncronorm's own pages state Depence was the tool used, and only Syncronorm states the four-plus-week preparation period; neither claim is confirmed by the Eurovision article or attributed there to an independent measurement. This entry treats the software choice and timeline as the vendor's own account of its client's process, not as a fact disclosed by the European Broadcasting Union.

What it is allowed to decide

On these sources, the Depence-built programming for Eurovision 2026 can plausibly support decision class 5, technical execution, since Syncronorm's account describes cues and show logic built ahead of a broadcast whose scale is independently confirmed. It holds Auditability in the limited sense that a show file existed and was built over a stated preparation period. It does not, on these sources, establish an audited Commercial or efficiency claim: nothing here is a measured before-and-after comparison of rehearsal time, only the vendor's own framing of how the period was used.

The disclosure label

A disclosure for a claim describing Eurovision 2026's use of Depence, dated 16 September 2026 and asserted by Syncronorm as the vendor, would read: this is a vendor case study describing a class 5 technical-execution workflow used ahead of a dated, independently confirmed broadcast of known technical scale; it holds Auditability in the sense that a show file was built over a stated preparation period; it does NOT HOLD an independently audited efficiency or time-savings figure.

• Has the European Broadcasting Union or the host broadcaster independently confirmed the four-plus-week previsualization period Syncronorm describes?
• Does naming the same designer and rig scale in both accounts corroborate the software claim, or only the production's existence?
• Is the vendor's account being read here as a case study, as marketing, or as a verified production record?

A broadcast's designer, dates and rig scale can be checked against the organizer's own record; which previsualization software prepared it, and how long that took, can only be checked against whoever discloses it, which here is the vendor alone.
